Ubud is the perfect place to slow down and soak in the peaceful side of island life. Surrounded by green rice fields and jungle, it’s a town where traditional Balinese culture blends with a laid-back, creative vibe. You’ll find local markets, cozy cafes, and plenty of spots to relax or explore, whether you’re walking through quiet streets, visiting a temple, or just taking in the view. Ubud is all about simple pleasures and a break from the usual rush.

When To Go To Ubud
The ideal time to visit Ubud depends on your preferences for weather and crowd levels.
Dry Season (April to October): This period is the most popular time to visit Ubud. The weather is generally sunny with minimal rain, making it perfect for outdoor activities like exploring rice terraces, hiking, and visiting temples. The comfortable temperatures and lower humidity also enhance the experience. However, it can be busy with tourists, and accommodation prices may be higher.
Wet Season (November to March): During the wet season, you’ll encounter frequent rain showers, which can be heavy but usually brief. This time of year offers fewer crowds and lower prices on accommodations. The lush landscapes are at their most vibrant, and waterfalls are more impressive. However, rain can occasionally disrupt outdoor plans, so be prepared for some flexibility in your itinerary.
Travel Tip
Consider timing your visit around local festivals for a richer cultural experience. Ubud hosts events like the Ubud Food Festival in April, which highlights local cuisine, and the Bali Arts Festival from June to July, showcasing traditional dance and music.
How To Get To Ubud
From Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar):
Taxi: The most common and convenient way is to take a taxi directly from the airport. The journey to Seminyak takes about 1.5 - 2 hours, depending on traffic.
Ride-Sharing Apps: Apps like Grab and Gojek are also available and can be a cost-effective option.
Airport Shuttle: Some hotels and hostels offer airport shuttle services, so check with your accommodation beforehand.
